By the 18th century an enclosure with game, and a park, were created in the valley of the River Blanice, adjoining Vlašim Château. In the last quarter of that period the owners of the estate, Marie Josefa von Trautson and her husband Karel Josef von Auersperg, created a park in the Romantic style on this site. Over time a unique landscaped park took shape and was complemented by an abundance of Romantic style features. J. Schaller wrote about it, in his Topography of the Kingdom of Bohemia of 1788, saying that its beauty surpassed all the other parks of Bohemia. In 1805 an album of 24 coloured engravings by W. Berger, based on the pictures of artist A. Pucherny, was issued. It captures the original form of the park.
